Starting the second 10 years!
On August 29, 2005, Quilter's Junction "moved down the tracks" to its current location in downtown Springfield, Oregon. Free, convenient off-street parking is the first thing you will notice about the new location. High ceilings and full-spectrum lighting make the new shop feel very comfortable. Plenty of room for classes and the expanded product displays make the shop even more inviting. You will still find excellent customer service and friendliness at Quilter's Junction.
Our First 10 Years
While attending the Scandinavian Festival in Junction City, Oregon in August of 1995, Ruth Bass and Judy Richter noticed that the quilt shop was for sale. They purchased Country Corner Quilting, changed the name and were open as Quilter's Junction by October. Though quilting is our business you will notice a black locomotive in our advertisements and on our handouts. (This is explained by saying Ruth is also a train buff)! In October of 1997, the store was moved to 595 Ivy Street right on Highway 99 in Junction City. This location has a bright and inviting atmosphere. The shop was expanded in 2001 by adding a large classroom with special lighting. What a pleasure to take a class in this spacious, well lit classroom.
Quilter's Junction carries a wonderful line of contemporary cotton fabrics including many fabrics with an Asian feel. Everyone is greeted with a friendly "hello" and a smile. The love of quilting and quilters radiates from the shop. Helpful advice is readily available for fabric selection, techniques or any other aspect of quilting. Every member of the staff is an accomplished quilter each with their own special interests.
Quilter's Junction started a tradition on National Quilting Day in March of 1998. Nine quilters gathered for a Quilt-In to make Comforts for Children. Comforts are small quilts furnished to agencies who deal with at risk and needy children. The Quilt-In was so popular that other dates are scheduled throughout the year. It's great to share an evening with friends, quilting, and creating items to fill a community need.
If you would like to write us, please do. We are always anxious to hear about your latest project or idea. We are also glad to special order books or notions that we do not have in our inventory. Just ask us!
At the Junction,
Ruth, Judy,
sharing the joy of quilting worldwide!
